Egypt striker Ahmed Hassan 'Kouka' says that helping the national team win is more important than finding the net himself, following the 4-0 return-leg win over Chad in the World Cup qualifying second round.

Egypt avenged their shock 1-0 first-leg defeat to the African minnows by thrashing them at Alexandria's Borg El-Arab Stadium, thanks to a double from Koka and first-half goals from Mohamed Elneny and Abdallah El-Saied.

"We did our utmost to win the game. We promised the fans to qualify for the next round and we managed to beat Chad," Sporting Braga striker Kouka told El-Hayat TV channel.

"For sure I'm happy for scoring two goals today, but helping the team by any means is what's really important."

On the other hand, Egypt center-back Ahmed Hegazy believes the match was a difficult game despite facing a mediocre opposition in Chad.

"It was a difficult game for us, taking into consideration that it's a World Cup qualifier," Ahly defender Hegazy said.

"The fans gave us a much-needed boost and they played a role in us winning the game.

"We eased off a bit during the last game; we didn't give it its importance."

A limited number of 25,000 fans were allowed to attend the game despite an ongoing crowd ban on domestic games.
