Egypt's national football team maintained their position at the 51st place in the FIFA global football rankings, published on Thursday.

There were no major changes in the February rankings because most of the teams didn't play international games in the past month.

The Pharaohs who occupied the 51st place with 1,420 points came seventh among African countries in the FIFA rankings published on Thursday, behind Senegal (20), Tunisia (27), Nigeria (31), Algeria (35), Morocco (43), and Ghana (46).

It also came fourth among Arab countries, after Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco.

In the FIFA ranking in December, Egypt's national team also occupied the same spot.

The Pharoahs drew in Group G of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers alongside Kenya, Togo and Comoros.

Togo lead group G with four points, Kenya are second with two points, and Egypt is in third place with two points after drawing in their first two games against Kenya and Comoros, and Togo lies at the bottom of the group with a single point.

The Pharaohs will resume their AFCON qualifiers in August.

Egypt made it into the world's top 10 teams when they won three successive AFCON trophies back in 2006, 2008 and 2010.

Meanwhile, the top 10 teams have maintained their previous positions.

The most notable in the new ranking was Palestine's achievement. They jumped three places to reach the 103rd globally, and 18th among Asian countries, recording their best ranking ever.
