Sudan, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda have confirmed their participation in the friendly Nile basin countries tournament to be hosted by Egypt from 3 to 16 January 2011.

The Egyptian national team is preparing for its clash with South Africa in the African Cup of Nations (ACN) qualifier 2012 scheduled for next March.

The Pharaohs held at 1-1 in their opening Group C match against Sierra Leone in the ACN qualifiers before conceding a stunning 1-0 defeat to Niger in their second game, landing at the bottom of the group.

Coach Hassan Shehata's intensive preparation for the South Africa match will include the scheduled games against Australia in November and Jordan in December as well as the friendly tournament scheduled for January.
