Egypt Under-23 national team are finalising their preparations for Thursday’s friendly game against Honduras in their closed  2012 London Olympics training camp in France.

“Midfielder Ahmed Fathi is undergoing physiotherapy sessions, under specialist Nasser Haridy, to make it to the friendly game on Thursday,” the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) stated on Monday.

The 27-year-old Ahly star sustained a knee injury during his team’s trainings for the CAF Champions League group stage.

“Striker Mohamed Salah is under a rehabilitation programme to ready him for the last friendly before the Brazil showdown,” Haridy was quoted on the EFA official website.

The 20-year-old Swiss club FC Basel player, Salah, initially hurt his shoulder in Egypt's African Nations Cup qualifier against Central Africa on 30 June.

Salah, who joined Basel this year from Egyptian Premier League side Arab Contractors for 1 million Euros, burst onto the scene with some eye-catching displays during Egypt's U-20 African Nations Cup and World Cup campaigns last year.

The Olympic team are taking on Belgium side Lierse S.K Monday night in a friendly.

The young Pharaohs, who are returning to the most prestigious tournament for the first time in 20 years, were at a draw with the powerful Brazil, Belarus and New Zealand in Group C.
