Egypt have been seeded twelfth for the 2015 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The winner of a record seven African Cup of Nations (CAN) trophies gained only 14.5 points in the seeding classification table because they failed to reach either the 2012 or 2013 African tournaments or the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Egypt will now face a tough challenge to win their qualifying group for the continental tournament.

Nigeria have the highest ranking with 39.5 points, 1.5 more than second-seeded Ghana.

Tournament hosts Morocco gained only 18 points as they did not qualify for the 2010 competition.

The next African Cup of Nations takes place between 17 January and 7 February 2015.
