AS Roma and Egyptian star Mohamed Salah recently advised countryman winger Mahmoud "Trezeguet' Hassan to be patient as he hasn't yet had a chance to excel with Belgium giants Anderlecht, the latter player revealed.
The Egyptian international joined Anderlecht in the summer from Cairo giants Ahly and has so far failed to establish himself, playing only 107 minutes in four games.
"There is no player in the world that has met the circumstances that I witnessed during my first months with Anderlecht," Trezeguet told Al-Hayat TV station on Monday night.
"Negotiations between Ahly and Anderlecht took weeks before then being delayed because of visa issues," he added.
Trezeguet sustained a shoulder injury during an Egypt training camp in October and has struggled to clinch a starting role with Anderlecht after recovering from his ailment.
"When I began to adapt to the atmosphere there, I picked up a serious injury that sidelined me for three months," he explained.
"What happened is God's will, but everyone must understand that I didn't get the chance to play with Anderlecht," the 21-year-old player added.
Despite a lack of game time, Trezeguet was recently called up for Egypt's squad that will play the two crucial matches against Nigeria in the African Cup of Nations qualifiers this month.
Argentinean coach Hector Cuper has called up five foreign-based players for both clashes, including Roma star Mohamed Salah, Arsenal’s Elneny and Trezeguet.
"Salah always speaks to me and advises me to be patient," said Trezeguet.
"He told me that he met the same circumstances at the beginning of his international career and he expects that I will be one of the best in the world when I get the chance," he concluded.
