Egypt's winger Ramadan Sobhi has officially joined English Premier League outfit Stoke City, the club confirmed Monday.

"Stoke City are proud to announce they have completed the signing of teenage Egyptian star Ramadan Sobhi from Ahly after being granted a work permit," stated the club on their official website.

"The Potters have agreed a fee that could rise to six million euros ($6.59 million) for the 19-year-old, who has been capped six times by his country and is widely regarded as the most exciting prospect in African football." the club added.

The club's Chief Executive Tony Scholes said: “We are absolutely delighted to have signed a player of Ramadan’s undoubted quality and potential.

“He’s a special young talent who is excited about the prospect of making an impact in the Premier League and we’re looking forward to giving him that platform.”

One of the best players of the Egyptian League last season, Sobhi was a standout performer as Ahly wrestled the league title from arch-rivals Zamalek, thanks to his mesmerising skills that enabled him to score five league goals and help create eight others, rescuing his team from many defeats single-handedly.

Since his departure the Red Devils have given a lacklustre performance and are on the brink of elimination from the African Champions League.
