In an interview with German newspaper Bild, Mohamed Zidan declared that Borussia Dortmund are capable of winning the German League title this season, if they can just gain ten points after the winter break.

“I think the title will be decided in February. If we can get at least 10 points from the first five games, we can do it. On the contrary, the Bavarians will have to fight till the end of the season. This opportunity only happens to us every ten years,” he affirmed.

Borussia Dortmund is in the driving seat for Bundesliga with 43 points, 10 points ahead of second-placed FSV Mainzand, 14 in front of the fifth, Bayern Munich.

The 29-year old Pharaoh also announced that he has a golden opportunity to appear in the starting XI as his Japanese teammate Shinji Kagawa will join his national team in the Asian Cup of Nations.

“I will do my best to start as Kagawa will play in the Asian Cup, but I have no problems if I stay on the bench,” Zidan said.  “Our coach is my role model, I trust that Jürgen Klopp will make the right decision," he added.

Zizo had only appeared once this season, with his team playing from the bench, as he has been suffering from a knee injury since April.

Moreover, the African Cup of Nations 2008 and 2010 winner confirmed that Borussia Dortmund’s training camp in Jerez, Spain is very important to him but he revealed that he will miss his new born, Adam.

“Jerez is the perfect place for training with the ball as there is no snow. Of course I will miss my son Adam, but this camp is very important to me,” Zidan concluded.
