Liverpool's Mohamed Salah celebrates scoring their second goal (Reuters)
Liverpool's Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah continued his impressive start to life at the English giants, scoring in a friendly against Bayern Munich on Tuesday for his fourth goal in five pre-season matches.
The 25-year-old was on target on 34 minutes with a rare header to make it 2-0 against Bayern Munich in the friendly Audi Cup after Senegal's Sadio Mane had put them ahead after seven minutes.
Mane's superb back-heel pass on the left found the overlapping Alberto Moreno, whose cross deflected off a defender and the Bayern keeper before falling into the path of Salah at the far post to head home into an empty net.
Salah was also on target in Liverpool's friendly games against Wigan Athletic, Leicester City and Hertha Berlin.
He joined Liverpool from AS Roma in the summer, returning to the Premier League with a point to prove after an unhappy two-year spell with Chelsea.
He was recently praised by Liverpool coach Juergen Klopp, who hailed the Egyptian's partnership with Brazilian playmaker Philippe Coutinho.
Both players combined to score a delightful goal in the 3-0 victory over Hertha Berlin on Saturday, with Coutinho lifting a lobbed pass to Salah who chipped the ball over the keeper with aplomb.
Salah also netted in a 2-1 victory over Leicester on 22 July following an assist from Coutinho.
"I think players like this understand each other. It’s a good thing with having players of this quality. They can connect," Klopp said of Salah and Coutinho.
