The match is underway

Starting line-ups:

Manchester City: Ederson, Kyle Walker, Nicolas Otamendi, Aymeric Laporte, Fernandinho, Kevin De Bruyne, David Silva, Bernardo Silva, Leroy Sane, Raheem Sterling, Gabriel Jesus

Liverpool: Loris Karius, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dejan Lovren, Virgil van Dijk, Andrew Robertson, James Milner, Georginio Wijnaldum, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino

20:00 Both sides are warming up. Liverpool's Salah is the main focus of cameras as he stretches his muscles.

19:30 Liverpool's Salah recovers from a groin injury in time to make the starting line-up. Guardiola makes some changes to the Man City line-up that featured in the first leg, benching Vincent Kompany and midfielder Ilkay Gundogan. It seems he will field a three-man backline.

18:30 Liverpool's Dutch defender Virgil van Dijk said: "It is pretty clear that defending a 3-0 lead is going to be a bit of a strange situation. We need to come here with the mindset it is still 0-0 and we want to win the game and we know we are capable of scoring goals."

18:00 Man City coach Guardiola said: "You have always the chance to respond and to strike back. City has the chance too. We have the chance to win the game. Most of the people think Liverpool will go through but will lose the game. We have the chance to win."

17:30 Man City are reeling from two successive defeats, with the latest coming last weekend when they blew away a two-goal lead to lose 3-2 to rivals Manchester United in the Premier League.

17:00 According to Egyptian reports, Salah will start the match alongside Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane upfront.

16:15 The big question is whether Mohamed Salah is fully fit to play this game or not. The Premier League top scorer featured in Monday's training for the first time since sustaining a groin injury last Wednesday in the first leg.

15:30 The Anfield faithful still celebrate one of the great football comebacks -- the night they won the 2005 Champions League final in Istanbul on penalties against AC Milan after trailing 3-0 to the Italians at half-time.

15:00 Klopp frequently notes how the club's history has little impact on his team but his team's fans understand more readily than most how fragile a three-goal lead can be.

14:00 Former Barcelona player and manager Guardiola still describes himself as a "fan" of the Spanish club and will need no reminding of how his old team progressed to the quarter-finals last season.

13:00 It is a truism, of course, and neither Guardiola nor his Liverpool counterpart Juergen Klopp will need to wrack their brains too hard to think of examples where a three-goal lead -- or more -- has been overturned in European competition.

12:00 "In football, anything can happen," said Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola with a shrug, as he looked ahead to Tuesday's Champions League quarter-final second leg where his team have to overcome a 3-0 deficit against Liverpool.
