Egypt defender Ahmed Hegazi was chosen by West Bromwich Albion's supporters as the team's best player this season, the Championship club has said.
The towering defender was rewarded for a series of impressive displays in the heart of West Brom's backline, helping his team in their drive to earn a place back in the elite Premier League.
"The Official Supporters Club presented their annual Player of the Season award which saw our Egyptian international defender Ahmed Hegazi receive a standing ovation as he collected the trophy," West Brom said on their website.
The 28-year-old has made 39 appearances in all competitions this season, including 36 in the Championship. He scored one goal and provided two assists.
West Brom will play in this month's four-team playoffs for a place in the Premier League next season.
Hegazi is also a key part of the Egyptian national team as they gear up for next month's African Cup of Nations on home soil.
