After being declared fit to play, Egypt and Dortmund striker Mohamed Zidan wants to see some action when the Bundesliga leaders take on Hamburg next Friday.
“I´m ready. If the coach calls me up, he will have to drop another attacking player from the squad. But they are all fit,” Zidan was quoted Wednesday on the club’s official website.
The 28-year old striker, who scored seven Bundesliga goals for Dortmund last season, has suffered a cruciate knee ligament injury against Hoffenheim on 18 April and has since been on the sidelines. He had resumed full trainings in November but did not play in any game as of yet.
“I was declared healthy on 1 November. It´s not about me, but about Borussia. We want to increase our points and lead,” the international player concluded.
After 11 weeks of play, Dortmund are now at the top of the Bundesliga table with 28 points – four ahead of second-placed Mainz.
