Liverpool's star winger Mohamed Salah is expected to be fit for Saturday’s Premier League clash with Aston Villa, according to the club's coach Jurgen Klopp.

“He should be fine, said Klopp on Friday. “He has had to do his individual stuff but he will be in training today," Klopp was quoted as saying by Liverpool's official website on Saturday morning.

Until Klopp's statement, it was unsure whether the Pharaohs' star would be able to play against Aston Villa after he had sustained an ankle injury during the game against Leicester City earlier last month.

The 27-year-old missed the 1-1 draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford on 20 October before being taken off after scoring the winner against Tottenham Hotspur last weekend.

“I think it is really more annoying for him, not me, that the injury is a bit of fluid [in the ankle] and he has to deal with it. He gets it out and then has to come back out the team," the coach explained.

“It is not a ‘real’ injury like this but he should be fine," he added.

Liverpool currently lead the English Premier League table with 28 points, while Aston Villa lie in the 15th place with 10 points.

Salah was recently called up by Egypt's newly appointed coach Hossam El-Badry for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Kenya and Comoros on 14 and 18 November, respectively.
