Egypt and West Bromwich Albion center back Ahmed Hegazi celebrated his 100 appearance with his British side during his team’s victory against Sheffield Wednesday.

West Brom, who plays in the English Championship, defeated Sheffield Wednesday 3-0 to take a closer step to return to the Premier League. They are second now with 74 points, just one behind leaders Leeds United, and the top two clinch an automatic promotion.

“Very proud with the teams performance last night and to bring home all 3 points and clean sheet . On my 100th appearance , this victory was extra special . Let’s keep it going,” Hegazi wrote on hiss official Twitter account.

Meanwhile, the club praised the 29-year-old solid defender for his great performance during his 100th appearance.

“Hegazi BOSSED it last night. An incredible performance on his 100th appearance for the Albion,” West Brom tweeted.

Hegazi has joined the English side in July 2017 on a loan contract. During the winter transfer market in January 2018 at the end of his loan the Egypt international signed with West Brom a free transfer contract.

Hegazi booked his seat in the starting squad at West Brom as soon he arrived in the Baggies owing to the great performances he showed. He scored three goals and created another two, with a clean record of zero direct red cards and booked only 11 yellow cards in 100 matches in all competitions.

The former Ahly defender has been a regular starter for the team but missed the early stages of this season after undergoing an ankle surgery in the summer, making his first appearance in a 1-0 victory over Middlesbrough in October.

The first half of the season was marred by injuries and disciplinary issues but then he managed to bounce back as a key element in West Brom's back four. He played 13 games this season and was booked twice.
