Egyptian full-back Karim Hafez has joined Turkish side Malatyaspor on a free transfer deal with a contract until 2023.

The 24-year-old left-back was loaned by Wadi Degla to the Turkish club in the latest winter transfer window, before Malatyaspor activated the sell clause to include the Egyptian for three years.

Hafez has participated in 13 matches with Malatyaspor during the last season; he played another 13 matches in the same season when he was loaned to Kasimpasa.

Hafez was also loaned by Wadi Degla to Basaksehir from August 2017 to January 2018.

Hafez, who has played seven international games with Egypt, has played only one game with Wadi Degla’s first team, in the Egypt Cup against Zamalek in 2013, when his team lost 3-0.

The youngster joined Belgium’s Lierse SK from the Wadi Degla U-23 team to start his journey in the world of football, passing through various clubs such as Cyprus’s Omonia Nikosia, France’s Lens, and Greece’s AEK Athens, in addition to the Turkish trio.
