Egypt and Mainz striker Mohamed Zidan will be out of action for the final game of the German Bundesliga season next week after sustaining a knee injury during the goalless draw with Hamburg on Saturday.
"Zidan didn't attend training on Wednesday as he is yet to recover from a knee injury he sustained four days ago," according to the German newspaper Kicker.
The 30-year-old made an impressive start to his third stint with Mainz after rejoining them from Borussia Dortmund in January, scoring seven goals.
He left Bundesliga champions Dortmund in the January transfer window in search of more regular first-team football than he found with Mainz.
Mainz kept their place in the Bundesliga for next season after finishing 13th in the league with 39 points and they will meet Monchengladbach on Saturday in the final game of the championship.
