Ahmed Elmohamady’s Sunderland continued their bid to claim a European place with a 2-1 victory over Blackpool in the Premier League on Saturday.
Kieran Richardson scored both goals as Sunderland extended their unbeaten league run to four matches.
The former Manchester United midfielder opened the score on the quarter-hour mark and doubled the lead on 36 minutes.
Blackpool pulled one back through a late penalty from Charlie Adam but could not grab the equalizer.
Egyptian right wing-back Elmohamady, who is eyeing a permanent Sunderland stay after joining from ENPPI on a season-long loan last summer, played all 90 minutes.
Sunderland lie sixth in the league table with 37 points.
