Hull City coach Steve Bruce has expressed interest in landing Egypt winger Ahmed Elmohamady from Sunderland during the current summer transfer window.
"Steve Bruce is thinking about making a move for Sunderland winger Ahmed Elmohamady; he might also try to tempt David Meyler into joining him at Hull City," the Sunderland Echo reported on Wednesday.
Former Black Cats manager Bruce landed the talented 24-year-old in the summer of 2010 from Egyptian side ENPPI. The player has been out-of-favour, however, since Martin O’Neill took charge of the team in December.
"Hull’s owner, UK-based businessman Assem Allam, is of Egyptian origin and might be persuaded to find the £1.5 million to £2 million that would be the likely asking price," the magazine reported.
Hull City are currently competing in the Football League Championship following two seasons (2008-2010) in the Premier League.
The Pharaohs star, who was reportedly linked last month to a move to West Ham, is contractually engaged with the Stadium of Light until 2014.
