Basel's Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah scored two goals in his team's 3-2 win over second-division side Locarno on Sunday, sending Basel to the Swiss Cup's quarterfinal.
The 21-year-old opened the scoring just before the break. Locarno responded with two successive goals, but the international forward scored the equaliser in the 75th minute before teammate Valentin Stocker scored the winner two minutes before the end of extra-time.
Salah who joined Basel last summer from Egyptian outfit Arab Contractors has thus far scored five goals with his new team – three in the Cup and two in league matches.
Basel is looking to keep their title as Cup winners for the second successive time.
