Egypt and Sunderland wing-back Ahmed Elmohamady hopes to return to Cairo to visit Tahrir square after watching the Egyptian revolution through British media.
“The British media urges people to visit Tahrir square, the outlet of freedom place, so I hope to return to Egypt to see the place that hosted the revolution,” Elmohamady told Ahram online.
The Pharaohs international joined Sunderland on a season-long loan from Egyptian team ENPPI last summer.
“I am waiting for the Egypt national team call for preparations for the South Africa game,” the former ENPPI winger added.
“Sunderland manager told me that he will negotiate with my former team ENPPI to sign a permanent contract with me,” Elmohamady claimed.
