Saudi giant team, Al Hilal’s 2-1 loss angered the team’s fans and brought heavy criticism upon Egyptian Ahmed Ali for missing opportunities for a win against Iranian Sepahan Esfahan in the AFC Champions League match.
The Saudi legend, El-Jaber, is confident that Ali has promising skills.
“Ali is delivering a good performance. He still has the chance to do more,” El Gaber, who works now as Al Hilal football director, told Saudi newspaper Al-Jazirah on Tuesday.
“I am sure that he only needs to score in a big match to gain more confidence,” added the former Saudi international.
The 22-year old joined the Saudi giants last January on loan from Egyptian club, Ismaily, until the end of the current season.
Al-Hilal Argentinean coach, Gabriel Calderon praises Ali for his outstanding performance in his first matches with the team echoes that he only needs time to deliver better performance.
“Fans criticism towards a player is always emotional. The problem is that we must not rush to judge people.”
“Our Swedish striker, Christian Wilhelmsson, was also heavily attacked in his first three months, but he is one of our stars now after three years,” El Gaber concluded.
