Egypt midfielder Hossam Ghaly has extended his contract with Belgian side Lierse until 2015, the club announced on Monday.
"Lierse is happy to announce the extension of the contracts of both strong holders Hossam Ghaly and Rachid Bourabia. The agreements of both players were about to end. Having signed their new deals, both of them will stay at Lierse until 2015," said a statement posted on the club's official website.
Ghaly, 32, left Ahly and joined Lierse last summer when Egypt's domestic league was cancelled after the 30 June mass protests that led to the ouster of president Mohamed Morsi.
At the time, the international player said he had to leave because the future and consistency of football in Egypt was not guaranteed and that he couldn't afford more time on the sidelines in that stage of his career.
The talented midfielder has since become a key player for Lierse, featuring in 25 games so far this season.
Lierse are 11th in the Belgian table with 31 points after 28 match days.
