Egypt and Chelsea forward Mohamed Salah has congratulated his former Basel's teammate and fellow Egyptian Mohamed El-Neny for scoring his first goal for the Swiss side on Wednesday.

El-Neny's goal help the Swiss champions claim a vital 4-2 victory over Zurich and extend their lead at the top of the league table on Wednesday.

"Congratulations my friend.. First goal with FC Basel," Salah wrote on his personal Twitter account.

The 21-year-old winger, who joined Basel from Egyptian side Arab Contractors in January 2013, hit his side's fourth goal of the night two minutes from time on the rebound following Fabian Frei's blocked spot kick.

Salah was a teammate of El-Neny at Basel before joining Chelsea in the winter transfer window.

"Thanks to God and thank you all for my first Basel goal and for the win. The victory was so important for us," El-Neny posted on his personal Twitter account after the game.
