Nigerian keeper Vincent Enyeama has been named the best African player in the French Ligue 1 on Monday.

The 31-year old Lille goalie – who succeeded Gabonese Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at Dortmund - beat Ivorian defender Serge Aurier (Toulouse) and Cameroon's Henri Bedimo (Lyon) in the RFI and France 24 poll, according to Lille's official website.

The Super Eagles number one choice produced a splendid performance this year with Lille , helping them to reach third place of the French table behind heavy spenders PSG and Monaco.

He maintained 11-game clean sheet this season before finally beaten by Bordeaux after total of 1061 minutes. The French top flight record is set by Bordeaux Gaetan Huard in the 1992-1993 season.

Enyeama finished second in the Ligue 1 keepers just behind Salvatore Sirigu who claimed the league title with PSG.
