Lyon's midfielder Nabil Fekir said on Wednesday he is reluctant whether to play for Algeria and France after both sides said they were interested in having him available for international selection.
The French- born player produced a string of fine displays with Lyon this season, establishing himself as a regular starter.
"I'm very hesitant," Fakir told France Football on Wednesday.
"It is a crucial decision and I don’t want to have any regrets.''
France's youth coach PierreMankowski heaped praise on Fakir, saying he is impressed with his performances at Lyon.
On the other hand, Algeria coach Christian Gourcuff revealed that he had met with the player and that he understands the reasons of his reluctance.
"I understand that he needs time to decide his fate. He has to take time to make his decisions without any pressure," Gourcuff told France Football.
