Togo striker Emmanuel Adebayor to return to Manchester City at the end of the season after failing to secure a permanent deal with Real Madrid

Spainish giants Real Madrid announced on Thursday that they will not take up their option to sign permanently striker Emmanuel Adebayor when his loan deal with club expires at the end of the season.

The 27-year old Togo striker is currently on loan with Real Madrid from English Premier League side Manchester City on a six-month deal. The Madrid side had an option to buy the striker for 16 Million euros.

Adebayor has so far scored five goals during his loan spell with Real Madrid.       

The 2008 African Player of the Year will rejoin his English club at the end of this season..
