Reigning champions Nigeria revived their hopes of reaching the African Cup of Nations after defeating Congo 2-0 as both sides will battle it out for the second Group A ticket to next year's finals in Equatorial Guinea.
Ikechukwu Uche converted a penalty in the 59th minute to break the deadlock and Nigeria keeper Vincent Enyeama kept the lead intact when he blocked a penalty four minutes later.
Substitute Aaron Samuel ensured Nigeria's victory in the 90th minute as the Super Eagles moved joint second in the group with seven points, on level with Congo. Leaders South Africa, who have 11 points, are already through.
Nigeria play South Africa and Congo take on bottom side Sudan in the decisive last round.
