Ghana were hit with a blow after an injury to Andre Ayew rendered the Olympique de Marseille winger doubtful for Wednesday's decider against Togo in the African qualifiers.

The 24-year-old suffered a thigh pain during his side's 1-0 loss to Uganda on Saturday and was replaced in the 75th minute.

"I felt a tear in my thigh at the beginning of the game and managed to hold on for a while, even though I was not 100 percent," Ayew told local media on Sunday.

The Black Stars' doctor will monitor Ayew's play in the coming hours before deciding his fate.

Ghana, who lead Group E with eight points, need only a draw on Wednesday when they host Togo in Accra to secure a Nations Cup spot.
