The Confederation of the African Football (CAF) has released its five-man shortlist of nominees for the African player of the year award, including last year's title holder, Ivory Coast and Manchester City forward Yaya Toure.

Nigeria's Vincent Enyeama and Ahmed Musa are also included on the shortlist, contending with Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan and Gabon's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The 2014 Glo-CAF Awards will be announced 8 January at a ceremony in Nigeria's Lagos to honour Africa's best players and officials for their achievements during 2014.

The ceremony also will award African Player of The Year, National Team of The Year, Club of The Year, Referee of the Year and Coach of The Year, all based in Africa.

Lagos, capital of Africa's most populous nation, hosted the Glo-CAF events two times before, in 2008 and 2013.
