The Liberian who wants to be FIFA president says he would step aside if African soccer head Issa Hayatou decided to run.

Musa Bility, the Liberia Football Association president, says if Hayatou ''puts up his hand to run, I will definitely bow out of the race.''

Hayatou is FIFA's senior vice president and has served on its executive committee for 25 years. He has not announced if he will bid to succeed Sepp Blatter.

Blatter said on June 2 he would resign, because FIFA was gripped by a corruption scandal.

Bility has announced he wants to stand for the presidency, and says he has the backing of Hayatou.

Bility says: ''I have an indication of his (Hayatou's) reaction. It is not negative.''
