Ayman Abdennour's future at Monaco is in doubt as the Tunisian player wants to leave Ligue 1, his agent Abdelkader Jilani said on Tuesday.
The Tunisian international was left out of the Monaco side that played against Nice in the Ligue 1 opener on Saturday and his agent confirmed that the player is seeking a move away.
"There are no problems with [Coach Leandro] Jardim or the club,” Abdelkader Jilani told Tuttomercatoweb on Tuesday.
"But the truth is that Abdennour wants to leave. He wants a new adventure, and there are opportunities in Spain, Italy and England."
Jilani said that Abdennour prefers Italy as several Serie A clubs expressed interest in signing him. However, he denied reports suggesting that Italian champions Juventus would sign him.
"The priority would be Serie A, he would like that a lot. There’s been some contact, with Milan for example, and Roma and Inter showed some interest too," he added.
"Juventus? No, I can’t confirm that. What’s clear is that the lad’s intention is to leave."
The 26-year-old, who joined Monaco in the summer of2013, is deemed one of the best defenders in the French Ligue 1.
