Al-Hilal were off to a brilliant start of their Champions’ League group stage campaign as they managed to hold Nigerian giants Enyimba to 2-2 draw on a very rainy day in Aba.

Zimbabwe striker Edward Sadomba gave the visitors the perfect start as he broke the deadlock after only 22 minutes to pile pressure on Enyimba.

The two-time African Champions from 2003 and 2004 responded in the second half braced by Valentine Nwabili in the 50th and 61st minutes to take the lead.

The Sudanese champions had to fight back and thanks to another fine finish from Sadomba in the 77th minute they shared the points of the game at the end of 90 minutes.

At the end of the first round all teams in Group A remain equal in points as Raja were held by Cotonsport to a scoreless draw on Saturday.
