Chelsea's Nigerian midfielder John Obi Mikel said on Sunday he is not surprised with the great performance of his compatriot Odion Ighalo who has produced a string of strong displays with Watford this season.
The Nigerian striker was on target in Watford's 2-2 draw against Chelsea on Saturday, netting his 13th goal of the season.
“I am not surprised Odion Ighalo is doing what he is doing," Mikel told Chelsea’s official website on Sunday.
"I have chatted with him and played with him in the national team and I can see the talent he has.
“He is a player who likes to exploit the space behind the defence and is a good finisher around the box. He is someone we need to watch out for.”
It was reported that Tottenham are interested in the 26-year-old as the Spurs are looking to strengthen their frontline after Clinton N'Jie's injury that would sideline the Cameroonian striker for months.
