New Cameroon coach Hugo Broos (Reuters)
Belgian tactician Hugo Broos has been named as Cameroon's head coach, succeeding German boss Volker Finke, the Cameroon FA announced on Saturday.
The Indomitable Lions have been without a coach since the dismissal of Finke last October following poor campaigns at the 2014 World Cup and the 2015 African Cup of Nations.
"His style of play had become stereotyped, lacking inspiration for the players selected and without any strategy for victory," Cameroon FA president Tombi Roko Sidiki said at the time.
Alexandre Belinga and Bonaventure Djonkep have been appointed as interim coaches since then.
Broos, 63, took over a host of clubs in Belgium including Club Brugge, Anderlecht and Genk before taking his adventure to Turkish side Trabzonspor, Emirati side Al Jazira and Algerians JS Kabylie and Nasr Hussein Dey.
He won three Belgium league titles, two cups and was named Belgian coach of the year four times.
