Guinea-Bissau reach African Nations Cup for first time

Kenya gifted Guinea-Bissau a place at the African Cup of Nations for the first time after beating Congo 2-1 on Sunday.

Guinea-Bissau, who defeated Zambia 3-2 on Saturday, qualified for the Nations Cup after finishing on top of Group E with ten points, four ahead Zambia and Congo who are joint second with six points.

Kenya's win over Congo helped Guinea go four points clear on top with one match to spare in the group.

Zimbabwe also booked their place in the Nations Cup after defeating Malawi 3-0 on Sunday.

Zimbabwe are on top of Group L with 11 points, three ahead of second-placed Swaziland who defeated Equatorial Guinea on Sunday.

With one match remaining, Zimbabwe guaranteed their Nations Cup place, given their better head-to-head record over Swaziland.
