Morocco's Wydad beat Ivory Coast's ASEC in CAF Champions League

Wydad share the same points with Zambia's ZESCO as they launched their group stage campaign with win

Wydad Athletic of Morocco have stunned their hosts ASEC Mimosas of Ivory Coast, beating the latter 1-0 in the first game of Group A of the CAF Champions League on Saturday.

Striker Salaheddine Saidi scored for Wydad Athletic six minutes before the break to give the visitors the three points of the game as well as the group's lead.

The Moroccan side Wydad are second in Group A of the CAF Champions League with three points, sharing the same points with leaders ZESCO United who defeated Egyptian giants Ahly early on Saturday.
