Napoli's Algerian fullback Faouzi Ghoulam has extended his contract until 2022, the Italian side announced on their official website on Tuesday.

The 26-year-old's previous deal with Napoli was due to expire next summer.

Reports linked the Algerian international with Premier League sides Manchester     City and Chelsea but he has now committed his future to Napoli.

Ghoulam joined Napoli from French side Saint-Etienne in 2014 and has made 153 appearances for the club.

He played 17 games this season, scoring twice and providing five assists.

Napoli are now second in the Serie A table with 38 points, just one behind leaders Inter Milan.
