Borussia Dortmund's Gabonese striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is likely to miss the DFP Cup last of 16 clash against Bayern Munich due to a muscle injury.
The 28-year-old was on target in Dortmund's 2-1 win over Hoffenheim in a Bundesliga game on Saturday but sustained his injury in a training session on Monday.
"Aubameyang's participation in Wednesday's clash is not certain," Dortmund's new coach Peter Stoger told reporters on Tuesday.
"We have many options to cope with his potential absence."
The Gabon striker is enjoying a fine season with Dortmund, scoring 21 goals in 23 matches in all competitions.
He was included in a three-man shortlist for CAF's African Player of the Year award along with Liverpool duo Mohamed Salah of Egypt and Senegal's Sadio Mane.
Aubameyang won the prestigious CAF award in 2015.
