Following their 2-1 defeat against Esperance S Zarzis in the Tunisian league on Tuesday, the board of the Tunisian side Club African have decided to part company with coach Mourad Mahjoub and replaced him with Kais Yacoubi.

Mahjoub was heavily criticised by fans, who demanded his departure following the defeat which knocked them out of the title race.

“I agreed with the board to terminate my contract. It was impossible for me to continue after being jeered by angry fans,” Mahjoub told Tunisian newspaperAssabah on Wednesday.

Club African is now sixth in the Tunisian league table with 17 points, 15 behind their arch-rivals and leaders, Esperance.
