The new minister of sports in Cameroon Adoum Garoua has revealed that the government is monitoring the FA crises with Indomitable Lions captain Samuel Eto’o and is trying to find a way out.

The 30-year old striker has been hit by a 15-match ban on Friday for inciting his teammates to boycott Algeria’s friendly game on November 15 causing the cancelation of the game.

“The government is keen to assure the public opinion that it is following closely this case and is examining currently all the ways leading to a settlement between the parties under the umbrella of wise and responsible management of this case,” a statement released by the minister on Monday read.

Debates blew up in Cameroon following the so-called exaggerated sanction; former Cameroon international players showed support to Eto’o and many fans also criticized the Cameroon FA for its handling of the affair.

Eto’o has kept a low profile since the decision was issued and his lawyer confirmed that he won’t appeal the ban.
