Inter Milan midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah said on Wednesday he is delighted to return to Ghana's squad for the first time in four years as the Black Stars prepare for an African Nations Cup qualifier against Kenya on Saturday.

Asamoah, who ended a four-year self-imposed exile, made his last appearance with Ghana in a Nations Cup qualifier against Uganda in 2014.

"It’s a special feeling always, when in national team colours," Asamoah tweeted on Wednesday.

"Very excited to be back home for national team football."

The former Juventus midfielder, who started his international career in 2009, has played 63 games with Ghana, scoring four goals.

Ghana, who thrashed Ethiopia 5-0 in their Group F opener of the Nations Cup qualifiers, lead the group which also includes Sierra Leone, Kenya and Ethiopia.
