Moroccan side Wydad de Casablanca have appointed French manager Rene Girard as team's new coach, the Moroccan side announced on Sunday.
The 64-year-old guided French side Montpellier to their first Ligue 1 title in 2011.
Girard will replace Moroccan coach Abdelhadi Sektioui, who lost his job following Wydad's elimination from the Champions League quarter-finals last week.
Reigning champions Wydad slumped to a surprise 1-0 aggregate loss to Algerian side ES Setif to exit Africa's blue riband club competition.
