Simba SC coach Patrick Aussems expects a tough test against Cairo giants Ahly in the CAF Champions League, saying that the Egyptian team is the strongest in Africa over the past 10 years.
Ahly will be hosting Tanzanian side Simba SC on Saturday in the third round of the prestigious African tournament group stage.
"It is a very important match. We know that we will be facing the strongest team in Africa in the last 10 years," Belgian tactician Aussems told Egyptian TV Channel Sada El-Balad.
"The game will be a difficult one and we must exert extra effort.
"To be honest, I didn't and I don't expect to get points from the Vita Club and Ahly away matches. Our main concentration is to acquire points at our own pitch," the coach added.
Ahly opened their group stage campaign with a 2-0 home win over Congolese side AS Vita Club on 12 January, before the 1-1 away draw against Algerian side JS Saoura in the second round a week later.
On the other side, Simba secured a comfortable 3-0 home win over JS Saoura in the opener, before the heavy 5-0 away loss to Vita Club.
Ahly, who reached the Champions League final in the past two years but lost on both occasions, are on top of Group D with four points, while Simba are third with three points.
"I don't concentrate on Ahly players. Sure we must know their weakness and strengths points and it will be great if we returned with points from Cairo," Aussems added.
The Simba coach claimed that Egyptian teams are always shown support by referees in their continental matches, saying: "I don't love dreams. Sure we won't get points against Ahly as they will get a penalty, one of our players will be sent off or they will get an offside goal."
"Coaches always know how to stop Ahly, but the most important thing is how to do that. Ahly suffer some failures but they are still among the biggest teams in Africa.
"The fan attendance won't be a problem for my team, as playing against popular teams always motivates my players," he concluded.
