Italy Serie A giants Ac Milan have announced Sunday the signing from Empoli FC for a five-year-contract of Algerian midfielder Ismael Bennacer, the 2019 AFCON best player.

The financial details of the signing have not been disclosed.

The 21-year-old Algerian star, who was born in France, started his football career in the Youth team of Ligue 2 Club Arles-Avignon. He made his debut with Arles-Avignon first team in 2014.

Last month, the former Arsenal star led his Algeria's national team to win the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, for their first time in 29 years.

He initially represented France at the Under-18 and Under-19 level, before opting to play for Algeria from 2016.
