A 73rd minute goal from Tanzania defender Shadrack Nsajigwa canceled out Burundi player Tambo Eniesy's goal in the 50th minute to clinch a crucial 1-1 draw in the Nile Basin friendly tournament Group A.

However, it was Tanzania who had the first shot on target when striker Mohamed Abdallah was sent clear in the area. His strike missed the goal just seconds before the break in what seemed to be a certain score.

Burundi progressed after the interval and managed to break the deadlock. They were able to maintain their lead for only 23 minutes, however, with defender Nsajigwa scoring the equaliser from the spot.

Tanzania and Burundi have each one point after today’s draw as they lost to Egypt 5-1 and Uganda 3-1 respectively.

Earlier today, Democratic Republic of Congo defeated Kenya 1-0 in Group B.
