Tunisia forward Naim Sliti said on Sunday he rejected a transfer offer from La Liga side RCD Mallorca before joining Saudi side Al-Ettifaq for religious reasons.

The 27-year-old joined  Al-Ettifaqfrom French side Dijon for a reported fee of 5 million euros.

"I turned down an offer from Real Mallorca as I preferred to be near the holy Kaaba and raise my children in accordance with the teachings of Islam," Sliti told Tunisian website Assarih.

The international forward made 38 appearances with the Carthage Eagles, scoring 10 goals.
