Zamalek’s game against Young Africans in the second-leg of the African Champions League preliminary round will be played at Cairo’s Military Academy on the third of March, the stadium officials said on Wednesday.
Speculation has been rife over whether the match would be played in Egypt, given security concerns following the Port Said disaster which left 74 fans killed following the end of a league game between Ahly and Masry.
Zamalek have been given the go-ahead to stage the game at the Military Academy Stadium.
It will be played behind closed doors due to a sanction imposed on Zamalek by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) following crowd riots in last season’s game against Tunisia’s Club Africain at Cairo Stadium.
Zamalek, who last won Africa’s premier club competition in 2002, salvaged a 1-1 draw at Young Africans in the first leg.
