Zurich-Club Africain game axed amid Tunisia riots

A friendly match to be held in Tunisia between Switzerland's FC Zurich and Club Africain has been canceled due to "political unrest," the Zurich-based football club said Tuesday

"Due to the political unrest, the authorities in Tunisia's capital Tunis has cancelled all major events," said the football club in a statement.

"Wednesday 12 January's planned test match between FC Zurich and Club Africain has also been affected," it added.

Some 20,000 tickets have been sold for the game.

More than 50 people were killed in Tunisia during three days of rioting which was sparked by high food prices and unemployment.
