Senegal and Guinea march on in Nations Cup qualifiers, Mauritania held by Burundi

Senegal maintained their 100 percent record in the Nations Cup qualifiers on Wednesday after defeating Guinea-Bissau 2-0 at home to top Group I with maximum nine points.

Liverpool winger Sadio Mane converted a penalty one minute before the break and Opa Nguette wrapped up the win in the 74th minute.

Guinea-Bissau, who are third in the Group with three points, will host Senegal on Sunday.

Second-placed Congo will meet eSwatini in a double header on 12 and 16 November.  

In Group A, Guinea claimed a 1-0 home win over Chad to top the group with seven points.

Chad, who lie at the bottom without any points, will host Guinea on Sunday.

In Group E, Mauritania were held to a 1-1 draw by Burundi, opening the door for Morocco to top the group.

Mauritania are leading the group with five points, one ahead of second-placed Morocco, who will host Central African Republic on Friday.
