UAE side Al-Ain have expressed confidence that Ghanaian striker Asamoah Gyan will extend his stay with them.
"I'm very confident that he will be staying," chief executive Carlo Nohra was quoted as saying on Sky Sports on Monday.
Gyan, who moved to United Arab Emirates side Al-Ain from English Premier League club Sunderland, said he was psychologically shattered after coming in for fierce criticism following Ghana’s failure to win the African Cup of Nations.
The 26-year-old scored 22 goals this season and has reportedly said that he is "enjoying his time in the Middle East."
"He has indicated on a number of occasions that he would like to remain at the club," Nohra added.
"There is a loan agreement that we need to work out with Sunderland, but what is really important is that the player wants to be here and we would like to keep him.
"Now it's about working out the logistics of a transfer.
"That doesn't mean it's going to happen, but the seeds are there for us to ensure that this becomes a long-term deal."
